Four different choices
| Action | What it removes | What it does not remove |
|---|---|---|
| Sign out | Your app identity session on this iPhone; remote session revocation is attempted. | Local reflections, Apple Health records, the remote account or an App Store subscription. |
| Delete account | The live remote identity, linked sound favorites, app sessions and stored provider credentials after the service confirms completion. Provider revocation is reported separately. | Local app records, original Apple Health data, exported copies or subscription billing. |
| Erase data on this iPhone | App-owned check-ins, private notes, sound feedback, listening history and local experience preferences, with associated local reset cleanup. | Your remote account, accepted server favorites, Apple Health records, recipient export copies or an Apple subscription. The app language choice is retained. |
| Manage Apple data or subscriptions | Use Apple’s controls to delete original Health records or cancel an Apple-billed membership. | These are not completed by a Sleepanion account or local-data deletion. |
Before you delete
If you want a copy of app-owned records, choose You → Export my Sleepanion data first and save the file somewhere you trust. It can contain private notes. The export is for your reference; it is not a promise that it can be imported back into the app.
Review any active App Store membership separately. Deleting an account does not stop Apple billing. If you want both remote and local data removed, complete both actions; they have separate confirmations.
Delete your remote account in the app
- Connect your iPhone to the internet and open Sleepanion.
- Open You, then the account row labelled Account and access.
- Choose Delete account and read the confirmation.
- If asked, sign in again with the same Apple or Google account.
- Confirm deletion and wait for the app’s result.
The service removes the live account and its linked favorites only after successful processing. A retry, provider error or “in progress” message is not confirmation of completion. If the final response is interrupted, retry as directed; the service has a short-lived receipt to recognise a completed request.
Account deletion ends account access. The local diary remains on this iPhone until you erase it separately, and does not become accessible from a different device merely because you sign in again.
If provider access needs a manual step
The normal deletion path attempts to revoke the connection with Apple or Google. If automatic revocation cannot be confirmed, the app can present a separate choice to delete the Sleepanion account and manage the provider connection yourself. Read that message before confirming; account deletion and provider revocation are not the same result.
- Apple: review the apps using Sign in with Apple in your Apple account settings, select Sleepanion and stop using the connection.
- Google: review third-party connections in your Google Account, select Sleepanion and remove its connection.
Removing a provider connection alone does not submit a Sleepanion account-deletion request, erase local reflections or cancel an Apple subscription. If the app says deletion failed, contact support or retry; do not assume it succeeded.
Erase app records on this iPhone
- Open You.
- Choose Erase data on this iPhone.
- Read which records will be removed and confirm Erase local data.
This resets the app-owned local records and related local playback/reminder data. It does not remove server favorites; remove their hearts or delete the remote account for those. It does not delete source records in Apple Health. Your language preference is retained.
There is no cloud diary restore provided by the account service. A local erase cannot retract a copy already sent through the share sheet or someone else’s email/storage service.
Cancel an Apple subscription separately
On your iPhone, open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, select the relevant membership and follow Apple’s cancellation options. Read Apple’s subscription guide. Refund requests use Apple’s refund process and applicable consumer rights.
Deleting the app, changing your Sleepanion account or erasing local data does not cancel recurring billing. The support website cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you.
If you cannot access the app
Email support@sleepanion.com with the subject Sleepanion account deletion request. State that you want the remote account deleted and whether you used Apple or Google. You may include the account email shown in the app if known, including an Apple relay address.
Sending an email begins a support request; it does not itself delete the account. Account information is disclosed or removed only after proportionate ownership verification, followed by confirmation of the outcome. Do not send passwords, one-time codes, sign-in tokens, card details or Health/diary exports. The support team cannot erase local records from your physical iPhone remotely.
This page is an information guide with an email contact, not a signed-in deletion form. No deletion request is sent just by opening it or clicking a navigation link.
What may remain after deletion
Live account deletion is distinct from removal of restricted database recovery history. Encrypted deleted records may remain in Cloudflare recovery copies for the applicable plan’s retention window, which still needs confirmation. Security deletion receipts and keyed tombstones expire after 24 hours and are removed during hourly cleanup. We do not promise immediate physical overwrite of every historical copy.
Apple, Google, email providers and export recipients control their own records. Details of Sleepanion’s current data boundaries, security records and pending retention confirmations are in the Privacy notice. Contact support@sleepanion.com for a privacy request or a deletion problem.
